Statement on Data Sharing for Heat Health Warnings, September 2025
Year Issued: 2025A position statement setting out how health departments, ambulance services and research partners should share heat related presentation and dispatch data during declared heatwaves. It covers minimum aggregation levels, turnaround expectations while an event is running, de-identification practice and the standing approvals that need to be in place before summer. Issued to speed up heat health warning evaluation after the January 2024 Adelaide and Melbourne heat episodes.
A one day roundtable bringing together seismologists, building regulators and state emergency managers to review earthquake risk settings for southeast Australia after the 2021 Woods Point earthquake. Sessions cover unreinforced masonry retrofit, the national earthquake hazard map update, and post event building assessment capability in Victoria and New South Wales. Outputs are a summary note and a revised research priority list. Open to agency staff and researchers by registration.
